Tamarack Jacket

In this class, students will create a Tamarack Jacket. 

By the end of this class, you will…
  • cut fabric using a pattern
  • pin pieces before sewing
  • apply binding
  • make a pocket

​Items you will need to purchase before coming to class:
  • Tamarack Jacket pattern (Grainline Studio Style #16002). 
  • Quilted fabric (see notes below)
  • Coordinating thread
  • ½” bias tape extra wide with double fold (9-12 yards)
 
Fabric Options:
  • Pre-quilted fabric purchased from a store
  • Fabric you have quilted before coming to class
  • An old quilt you will cut up

How much fabric do you need? 
  • For a size 0-18 jacket, purchase 2½ yards of quilted fabric   (45” wide)
  • For a size 20-30 jacket, purchase 3-3¼ yards of quilted fabric (45” wide)
  • A queen or king-sized quilt will work for most jackets
  • If you are fussy-cutting fabric, plan to bring more than expected.
 
Special Note: There will be quilted fabric left over from the project. If time permits, the class will also create a quilted basket or pouch with the leftover pieces.
